Many people think that the tall suckers grows more faster which is not the case here in kabale.
How do you get to this banana suckers?
A fresh young banana sucker is got from already standing bananas stool.
To make sure that you get this young banana plant from a garden which is not infected with any diseases, you have to make sure that clean the banana sucker and cut off the old roots which it had before.
One can also even deep banana into the pest side to kill both the eggs and the already grown pests.
The young banana sucker is cut slanting to avoid water from staying at the top hence decomposition and it won't grow at all especially in the rainy season.
The banana plant is placed in the middle of the whole and manure is put around it.
Remember this young banana plant has no roots so manure should be put close to it for easy growth.
After putting the manure you first add the top soil not sub soil because the top soil has some organic manure.
You have to fill the hole untill the whole is filled if the top soil isn't enough there u might add some sub soil. The banana plant needs 10 liters per week for it to grow well, you also have to know that banana plantation in Kabale should be planted shortly before rain this enables the plant to use all the rains. The biggest mistake farmers make is to plant the banana when the rain is already on. The rains might end when actually their banana plantations haven't established very well.
